Below are some important informations
Pigmera ETX® should ideally filled into an Ecotank printer with clean ink tanks. Mixing with other inks should be avoided. In the case of an already used Ecotank printer, the existing dye ink of the individual tanks can be removed almost completely and replaced with our pigmented color ink. There should be some technical understanding and manual skill for this process.

Below are some important notes on using Pigmera® ETX in the ET-18100
Filling or changing the ink
Pigmera® ETX should ideally be used in an EcoTank printer with clean ink tanks, for example, in a new device. If you have a previously used EcoTank printer, you can almost completely remove the existing dye ink from the individual tanks and replace it with our pigmented color ink. This process requires some technical understanding and manual skill, but in general, it is relatively easy to accomplish.
Pigment inks generally exhibit a different gloss behavior on glossy media compared to dye inks. Pigments do not fully penetrate the paper surface, which can result in uneven gloss when viewed from an angle.

Functions of the Printer
The printer is altered or restricted in its manufacturer-intended functions with the conversion to Pigmera® ETX. The ET-18100 printer model comes equipped from the factory with six dye-based inks (K, C, LC, M, LM, Y). Dye-based inks are suitable for both matte and glossy papers.
With a conversion of the printer to pigment inks, the user must decide beforehand whether they want to print on matte or glossy media. A simple switch back and forth is not technically possible with a tank printer that has only one black channel, or it is only feasible with great effort.
Pigmera® ETX is a pigment ink product. For printing on matte media, a Matte-Black (MK) is used. The tank for the black channel is filled with Matte-Black, preparing the printer for printing on matte photo and fine art papers. If you fill the black ink tank with Photo-Black (PK), this is the optimal black ink for printing on glossy media. Photo-Black can also be used to some extent on matte papers, but it does not produce a deep black in the print.
ATTENTION
Decide before purchasing or converting whether you want to print on matte or glossy media.
Pigmera® ETX is not suitable for printing (neutral) black and white prints. When printing grayscale on glossy media, there may be optical disturbances such as metamerism or gloss differential.
We have been able to process papers up to a weight of 350g/m2 with the ET-18100. With some thick/heavy glossy papers, there may be marks on the paper surface due to the printer's transport rollers.
